Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants to the ABMH must pass a certifying examination to achieve recognition as a Diplomate of the Board.
To apply to sit for the examination, a candidate:
Must be a licensed physician in good standing and hold active board certification in his or her medical specialty.
Have a minimum of five years of clinical hypnosis experience in practice.
Have completed at least 100 hours of Category I clinical hypnosis training accredited by ASCH, SCEH or their equivalent.
Submit for review and audiotape or video recording representative of their hypnosis work with patients.
- A recommendation from a professional colleague in the applicant's medical community or an officer of the local medical society.
